Boogie guidelines to ensure everyone’s fun, safety, and freedom of expression:
- Non-marking dance shoes are welcome on the beautiful bamboo floor.
- Please leave your tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs at home.
- Respect the boundaries of others and
- Ask for assistance if you need help setting a boundary with another dancer.
- No scents (perfumes, oils, scented lotions, etc.) – some of our dancers are allergic.
- No cameras, so we can be our unselfconscious, freaky selves!
- No cell phones on the dance floor.
Please, as a courtesy to other dancers, keep conversations to a hush or take it outside of the dance space.
We at Boogie prefer bare feet but understand that some dancers need to wear footwear in order to dance, as long as they will not injure other dancers and leave marks on the floor. Traditionally this footwear is distinguished by:
- not having a hard heel/black soles.
- socks
- dance footwear are not shoes/sneakers or dance club shoes also worn on the street
